Partner, Private Equity and Alternative Investments Practice Lead
Jon serves as the Partner and Lead for the Private Equity and Alternative Investments Practice at NorthWind Partners. Starting with the firm as an Associate, Jon ascended the ranks of NorthWind earning into the Partnership in record time. He has quickly gained the confidence of clients and demonstrated himself as a market leader in retained search, selection, and assessment.
Jon is committed to building high-performing leadership teams and boards and is naturally compelled to identify deeply with clients and act as a trusted advisor while sharing their stories in the market. Jon embraces the role of clarifying and shaping the leadership team’s mission and ultimate desired outcomes before endeavoring to court the requisite leaders. He originates and oversees full life-cycle projects and manages project teams across healthcare, technology, business services, government, aerospace & defense, utilities, and industrials. Jon provides expertise across all facets of executive search including project due diligence, recruiting, negotiation, client management, and business development. Jon partners with a diverse client base and endeavors to build and develop effective leadership teams at the board, C-suite, and senior executive levels.
Prior to his career in executive advisory, Jon spent 16 years in Higher Education, serving at Florida State University, Virginia Tech, and Georgetown University. As a hiring manager at Georgetown, Jon was responsible for recruiting, training, and managing a large organization. In this role, he was awarded the Excellence in Service Award from the American College Professional Association in 2017. Jon was also the Chair of the Mental Health Advisory Board for Georgetown, a collaboration of University administrators and students responsible for reforming mental health policies and procedures for the University under the oversight of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
Earlier in his career, Jon served as a Director for Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, focusing on developing student leaders and pioneering chapters in turnaround situations. At Georgetown, Jon started with six students and grew the chapter to the largest Protestant Ministry at Georgetown, with over 100 students actively involved in 17 different student-led groups, meeting six nights a week.
In his spare time, Jon loves running, coffee, good bourbon or wine & music, reading fiction and is a self-proclaimed TV snob. He and his wife, Jenny, live with their daughter in Washington, D.C.
Jon holds a bachelor’s degree from Evangel University and an MS in Human Services Counseling from Southwestern Assemblies of God University.
