GTL has tapped Deb Alderson, a government services executive who previously was CEO of Sotera Defense Solutions, as its chief executive.
Alderson’s first day in her new role was April 2. She takes over for retiring GTL CEO Brian Oliver. GTL board Chairman Michael Sand thanked Oliver for leading GTL through a period of growth and transformation, and his work in ensuring a smooth leadership transition as he moves to an advisory role. Sand added Alderson was the right person to lead GTL, and continue the company’s technology leadership.
“She has a passion for improving the corrections environment through GTL products, and her strong experience leading sales and service organizations will benefit our customers, inmates, and GTL employees,” Sand said. “We are confident that Deb will elevate our already-strong leadership team and will be a highly-capable successor to Brian Oliver, the company’s retiring CEO.”
“Over the 15 years that we’ve known one another, Deb has demonstrated the ability to evaluate an organization, distill the issues that need to be addressed, develop a plan to build/optimize/grow, and guide her leadership team to implement,” said Mark HuYoung, managing partner at NorthWind Partners. “She’s remained cool under pressure and handled difficult or tenuous endeavors and situations with focus and resolve. Additionally, Deb is personally attuned to the battle rhythm, mandate, and expectations of PE, which should prove valuable to American Securities with this investment.”
GTL provides correctional technology services including inmate telephone systems, visitation management software, jail management systems, inmate tablets, and inmate education services.
Before Sotera, Alderson held leadership roles with SRA International, SAIC and Anteon. She was honored with a Federal 100 award from Federal Computer Week in 2011.
